We were lucky enough to be selected to perform a Silva Cells installation project in Queens, NY. The company that hired us for this job was looking to have Silva Cells installed around Arthur Ashe Stadium to support various trees that they wanted to have planted to enhance the aesthetics of the property. The first step of this project was to meet with our clients for a consultation so that we could get a good understanding of what they were looking for. Once it was time to get started with the project, we used heavy-duty machinery to dig holes where the trees would go, and then we installed our Silva Cells in those holes so they could support the growth of the trees, accommodate deep-root development, and provide stormwater management. The last step of this project was to install the trees and fill in the holes. Continue reading to learn more about this Silva Cells project that we completed in Queens, NY.

Once we were hired for this Silva Cells installation project, the first thing that we did was sit down with our clients for an initial consultation. During this consultation, we learned exactly what our clients were looking to achieve, which was to have Silva Cells installed around Arthur Ashe Stadium so that trees could be planted around the stadium to enhance the aesthetics of this historic venue. We made sure that we asked a bunch of questions during this consultation so that we understood exactly what was expected of us. Once we were on the same page, it was time to get to work!
The next step of this project was to dig holes where the trees would go and install our Silva Cells in them.
After we finished our consultation and it was time to get to work on this project, we got started by digging holes where all of the trees would go. We used heavy-duty equipment to dig these holes and made sure that they were the correct size so that they could accommodate the trees that they would house. Once the holes were dug, we installed our Silva Cells in them. These cells are designed to support the growth of trees in urban environments, accommodate deep-root development, and provide stormwater management. Once the cells were successfully installed, it was time to install the trees.
Our Silva Cells are 92% void of space, so they can accommodate underground utilities such as water, sewer, phone, and internet lines.
The last step of this project was to install the trees and cover up the holes.
Once we successfully installed our Silva Cells in all of the holes that we dug, it was time to install the trees in them. We used heavy-duty equipment to lower the trees into their holes and ensured that they were installed straight up so that they looked great. Once we finished installing all of the trees, we covered up the holes. Once we were finished, our clients were thrilled with the way that the project turned out and love how they enhance the aesthetics of the property!
